EUGENIA L. WEISS, PhD, PsyD, MSW, MA
​President and Founding Partner

Dr. Weiss has more than two decades of practice, research and leadership experience in the fields of health, human services and higher education. As a social worker and psychologist her approach to research, program evaluation and organizational leadership is team-oriented, community-participatory, culturally inclusive and empowerment-based. Dr. Weiss has served as a principal and co-principal investigator on numerous funded research projects and evaluations and co-funded Weiss Research & Consulting. She has published 8 books, 30 book chapters and 32 peer-reviewed journal articles in the areas of military veterans, diversity in higher education, leadership, women’s studies and social work practice. Additionally, Dr. Weiss is bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural. She currently holds a position as a Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California (USC), Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work where she teaches research methods, data-driven decision making, implementation science and program evaluation to doctoral level students. While at USC, Dr. Weiss served as a Center Director for two academic centers and as Senior Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs. She has owned a private practice and worked in community mental health agencies specializing in the treatment of psychological trauma.

Dr. Weiss earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California Los Angeles; a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California; a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology; a Master of Arts in Education from Claremont Graduate University and earned a graduate certificate in Advanced Study in Evaluation also from Claremont Graduate University.


JUAN CARLOS ARAQUE, PhD
Senior Associate Consultant

Dr. Araque has over 20 years of experience working in the fields of leadership, diversity, violence prevention, education and positive youth development. He is interested in the research and design of public, private and non-profit system structures to support positive child and adolescent development, and robust child-adult-community relationship building. Dr. Araque is currently a Clinical Associate Professor teaching courses in the masters and doctoral programs at the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work and Sol Price School of Public Policy. Dr. Araque co-authored (along with Dr. Eugenia Weiss) the book entitled: Leadership with Impact: Preparing Health and Human Service Professionals in the Age of Innovation and Diversity (Oxford University Press, 2019). He also provides academic leadership as Principal Investigator (PI) for community leadership and research projects and presents in academic conferences peer-reviewed research studies. Additionally, Dr. Araque has served as the Academic Faculty Lead for leadership and research courses, the Graduate Latino Student Association, and the School of Social Work Latino/a Social Work Caucus.

​Before entering academia, Dr. Araque was the Executive Director for the University of Southern California (USC) TRiO Programs, providing educational opportunities for over 2,500 low-income, first-generation, minority students in partnership with twenty middle and high schools in South, South Central and East Los Angeles. He also served as the Senior Vice President for Community Investments at the Orange County United Way, where he oversaw $30 million (top line) in funding to over 300 non-profit agencies.

​He earned his doctoral degree in Public Administration from the USC Price School of Public Policy in 2005. He lives with his wife, Carrie, and two children, Sean and Rebecca, in Orange County, CA.
